Salmon puttu – fish porutu made from steamed and shredded fish, sauteed with onion and spices. In Andhra, this dish is traditionally made with korameenu fish (murrel fish), and sora chepa (shark). This famous recipe has many variations in South India. Any fleshy fish works best for this recipe, today I’m using wild-caught sockeye salmon. Other options for fish puttu are Atlantic salmon, tilapia, and catfish.
