Oats ragi banana waffles are a healthy version of regular waffles. These oats ragi banana waffles contain no sugar and no baking powder. These oats ragi banana waffles are flavored with banana and cherries. Ragi flour is known as finger millet flour.

Ingredients notes and Nutritional value

Oats flour: Oats flour can be easily found in super market aisle. To make your own flour, add any oats to blender or food processor and blend until oats have turned to fine powder. Store it in air tight container. Oats are rich in protein, iron, calcium and also other vitamins like manganese, copper.

Ragi flour: You can find ragi aka finger millet flour in local Indian stores or on amazon. Ragi flour aka finger millet flour is rich in calcium, iron and fiber.

Banana: Bananas are rich in magnesium, vitamin b6, potassium.

Egg: Eggs are good source of protein, vitamin d, iron and more.

Cherries: Cherries add a subtle sweetness to waffles. You can replace cherries with any kind of berries.

How to make oats ragi banana waffles

Prep: Heat the waffle iron. Wash and roughly chop the cherries.

  1. Place all ingredients except cherries in a mixing bowl and blend it with a hand blender. Or you can use a smoothie maker like Nutri Bullet.
  2. Grease the waffle maker with butter.
  3. Pour the batter on the waffle iron and top it with chopped cherries.
  4. Cook as per your waffle iron instruction manual.

tips

  1. I usually serve these waffles with fresh fruit on the side. If needed, add maple syrup or chocolate syrup on top.
  2. I make them extra for an evening snack and reheat them in a toaster before serving.
