  • 500 grams Dondakaya (Tindora)
  • 1 cup Onion medium
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 5 Garlic pods
  • 4 Green chili
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1-2 large Dry red chili whole

Tempering

  • 1-2 tbsp Oil
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp Urad dal or channa dal
  • 1/8 tsp Asafoetida
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

How To Prepare Dondakaya Ulli Karam Instant Pot

  • Wash and chop tindora in circles. keep them aside.
  • Add roughly chopped onion, peeled ginger, garlic, green chili, and turmeric in a blender and make a coarse paste.
  • On instant pot saute mode, heat the oil. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, whole urad dal, and dry red chilis, until they splutter and dry red chili changes color.
  • Add chopped tindora, salt, and thing, and mix all together.
  • Add the coarse onion paste on top of the tindora. Don't mix, to avoid a burn sign.
  • Close the instant pot lid and cook on pressure cook for 5 min, high pressure.
  • Quick release and serve it with hot rice or roti.
