Tandoori chicken oven and air Fryer is an Indian appetizer, marinated in yogurt, and spices and cooked in an oven or air fryer. This smoky and juicy tandoori chicken is perfect for dinners.
MARINATION FOR TANDOORI CHICKEN OVEN AND AIR FRYER
Clean the chicken drum stick or thigh and pat dry. Using a knife, cut deep slits into the chicken.
In a large bowl, whisk yogurt, black pepper, deggi red chili powder, Kashmiri chili powder, ginger garlic paste, coriander powder, garam masala, cumin powder salt, kasuri methi, lime juice, and red food color (optional).
Place the chicken in marinade and mix well. Make sure all chicken pieces are coated well. Cover it and refrigerate overnight or at least an hour.
HOW TO COOK JUICY CHICKEN TANDOORI IN THE OVEN
Take a roasting pan or sheet pan and place it in the oven. Pour water into a pan until it reaches about halfway up the sides of the pan. A water bath adds moisture to the oven which makes chicken juicy.
Preheat the oven to 400 F degrees.
Place the chicken drumsticks on the grill rack leaving a bit of space in between each piece. Bake the chicken for 25-30 minutes. You can flip them after 15 minutes of cooking time.
HOW TO COOK CHICKEN TANDOORI IN THE AIR FRYER
Preheat the air fryer to 380 F degrees.
Place marinated chicken in the air fryer and cook for 15-18 minutes. You can flip the chicken over halfway through cooking time.
