2. Add finely chopped almonds, pistachios, cashews, and dates to ghee. Fry them until nuts turn to golden color.
3. Then add vermicelli, water, whole milk, sugar, cardamom powder.
4. Close the lid and set the instant pot on STEAM, adjust to NORMAL for 1 minute.
5. When the count down is done, wait for natural pressure release.
6. Mix raisins with milk and vermicelli. Enjoy your sheer khurma hot or cold.
CAN WE SUBSTITUTE WHITE SUGAR WITH BROWN SUGAR:
Yes, of course. I make it with brown sugar most of the time but never add brown sugar directly to milk. Brown sugar will make milk curdle because of acids. I suggest you place a trivet and keep a sugar bowl with little water or you can add sugar at the end.
